Woods Hole Selects Rapp CTD winch for R/V Alucia September 18th, 2014 Rapp Hydema recently provided a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) a CTD winch for the new research vessel R/V Alucia, which is being managed and financed by Beta Maritime. Rapp’s TBW-520E-T90 winch accommodates 7,000 meters of .322 Rochester Fiber-Optic cable, plus 100 feet of 2 1/4” synthetic tether. It has Active Heave Compensation (AHC) set for optimal use at 3000 meters of deployed line.

Helge Vatnehol has been appointed Group CEO of Rapp Marine. Mr Vatnehol comes from the position of Senior Vice President Offshore Deck Machinery in Rolls Royce and took over on 1 September 2014.

New owners to bolster Rapp Marine Group

Private equity fund NORD II is coming in as the new owner of Rapp Marine Group. The aim is to help the continuing development of the Bodø-based industrial group through growth in a global market. NORD II will supply fresh capital and engage in active ownership from the boardroom. Today's chairman, Svenn Are Jenssen, will be the Group CEO, while other leading personnel in the member companies will continue as before. Olav Fjell will take over as chairman of the Group.
