Breakthrough for Rapp Marine

We are pleased to announce that Rapp Marine has secured two new contracts for delivery of complete electric deck machinery packages to the Industrial Trawler fleet.

PE fund Nord Kapitalforvaltning AS owned Rapp Marine is contracted to equip the two industrial trawler newbuilds Clipperton - owned by Sweden based B-C Pelagic and Lingbank-  owned by Lingbank Fiskeri ApS based in Denmark, with all electric deck machinery packages.

Commenting on the contracts, Morten Stenkjær, VP Sales, Rapp Marine Group said:

“These two contracts represent a significant breakthrough both for us as a company as well as for our electric deck machinery systems for these types of fishing vessels. The electric winch concepts are derived from Rapp Marine’s well proven hydraulic solutions and based upon the company’s extensive experience and know-how built up over decades, serving the international fishing fleet“.

Both newbuildings will be built at Karstensens Skibsværft in Skagen, Denmark.

Karstensen's Skibsværft is the absolute leading builder of Pelagic Trawlers/ Purse Seiners in northern Europe.  “We are thankful for the confidence they have once again shown in us to supply the electric deck machinery for the two newbuildings”, says a proud Mr. Stenkjær.

Industrial trawling

Industrial trawling is a cost sensitive and challenging business that puts high requirements on the vessel and its core equipment. Robustness, reliability and cost effectiveness are key success factors in this industry.

“I am therefore delighted that both B-C Pelagic and FiskeriApS have concluded that our electric systems and offerings represent the solution for the future” concludes a very pleased Morten Stenkjær.

Convinced to join the technology of the future

Part owner at Lingbank, Jens Schneider Rasmussen confirms that they are happy to appoint Rapp Marine as supplier of the electric deck machinery for the new “Lingbank”:

Rasmussen says that their focus has been on reliability, efficiency and cost, which they strongly believe Rapp Marine will deliver, through broad experience and quality in their product line. First we did not take electric driven machinery into account, but were quickly convinced to join the technology of the future. It will also emphasize our environmental focus.

“We will get a strong and proven range of deck machinery products, complying with the standards and requirements of tomorrow, says a convinced Rasmussen”.

With focus on reliability, safety and working environment

Marcus Backman at B-C Pelagic is also very pleased with the choice of electric drive from Rapp Marine on their new building Clipperton.

For us, reliability, safety and working environment is important and electrical equipment will have a positive effect in terms of reducing fuel consumption.

“With Rapp Marine electric winch solutions, we will be able to fish effectively and keep down the operating costs”, says a very pleased Backman.

Strong market position

“Rapp Marine is grateful to be the preferred supplier of the electric driven deck machinery for the two newbuildings, and again it confirms the company's strong position as a supplier of equipment to the fishing fleet, now also for a new group of customers”, says a very pleased Stenkjær.
