Complete Electric Deck Machinery to Thorunn Sveinsdottir

In late December 2010 the new building 409 Thorunn Sveinsdottir left Karstensen Skibsværft in Skagen, on a course set for its new home port of Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. See pitures from our winches onboard in attached files below the article. 

Full scale fishing trails out of Iceland, including training of the crew in operation and maintenance of the system, were successfully completed this week by Rapp Marine's service technicians. The complete Electric Deck Machinery package from RAPP MARINE AS includes:

Electric winches: Split Trawl Winches, Sweep Line Winches, Gilson Winches, Cod-end Winches, Out-haul Winches, Auxiliary Winches, Back-strop Winches (hydr.), Net Drums and Anchor Windlass. 

Newest Fluid Cooled Motor Design
: Our Fluid Cooled Electric Motor, for which we received “the Spotlight On New Technology Award” at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston in May 2010, is used on the vessel’s trawl winches. 

New winch control system, PTS Pentagon CBus-F, for electric fishing systems:
 The new Rapp Hydema PTS-Pentagon CBus-F AutoTrawl system is well tailored for bottom as well as for pelagic trawling and is based on our experience with the PTS-3000 system. 
Complete electric & hydraulic drive and control system.
