In October 2011 25 students from the University of Kragujevac in Serbia were enrolled in a traineeship program. The program last until June 2012. The students will attend seminars hosted by Rapp Marine and most of the students will also get the opportunity to travel abroad to work and visit our companies in Norway, USA and Scotland. 20 of the students are from the Faculty of Engineering and 5 from the Faculty of Economics.
This project is a cooperation
between Rapp Marine group and the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of
Engineering at the University of Kragujevac and Bodø Graduate School of
Business at the University of Nordland. The project is also supported and
financed by the Embassy of Norway in Belgrade and the The
National Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Kunnskapsparken Bodø). This
is an exciting opportunity for the involved companies and
institutions, says Tove Pettersen the Managin Director of Rapp Marine. The Rapp Marine group are excited about the
partnership, and see the possibilities that exists within the project.
The opportunity for students to engage in internship programs are one of the main focuses of the project. The students
are attending English-classes as well as practical seminars hosted by the Rapp
Marine Group. In addition to writing their master theses the students are given
the opportunity to get practical experience at the Rapp Marine group, and most
of them will be travelling abroad to companies in US, Scotland and Norway.
The students have now had three seminars hosted by the Rapp Marine group. The seminars have had a pratical focus and we have used staff from our own organization to present practical cases with foscus on ERP system, currency control, product development etc. In addition to our practical presentations professors from the faculties have presented the theory behind.
The last seminar were held at the Faculty of Economics at the University in Kragujevac and we we had invited the Rector at the University of Nordland, Mr. Pål Pedersen and the Dean of Bodø Graduate School of Business, Mr. Svenn Are Jenssen do guest lecture. This seminar was open an open seminar, and we are very pleased that so many students and Faculty staff attended the seminar.

During the last week of January we were so lucky to have the Ambassador of Norway and his First Secretary visiting the University of Kragujevac and our factory Rapp Zastava.
